Perugia A two day trip to centre of Italy and we were showered with 3 different weather experiences, Thunderstorm,Fog so thick you couldn't see under one's nose and Sunny as if its summer. The history of Perugia goes back to the Etruscan period. I have few images to share and have a feeling there going to be many more in due course of time.
A visit to Sandri is must while visiting town centre.....and if you are fan of hot chocolate, you are in for a treat.
Trip to Assisi and couldnt have chosen a better day to visit, the fog added to the magic of this place. Architecture diminishing into as if in the sky in day time and later on as if Angels filled in the dark streets. We got a chance to visit Basilca di San Francesco; where the St Francesco is buried.St Francis 1181-1226 was know for his miracle of talking to animals.Francis is one of the most venerated religious figures in history.
Before are few magical pictures of the Chapel and around, esp with the play of fog light and dark.
The afternoon at Basilca di San Francesco (above)
Within few hours magnificent views with lovely christmas tree.
The streets were covered with these angel lights, am sure you will agree it just adds to the magic of the place.
Assisi .......after the fog lifted (above)
Santa Maria degli Angeli Assisi (above)
The dance of moon next to Santa Maria degli Angeli
Lit candles at Santa Maria degli Angeli, visited two amazing historic places filled with faith and religion. The day was indeed well spent.
La Vigna, I was described this place before but the words didn't do it justice. The photographs don't even work as taster here, only once you visit these olive tree fields and cyprus trees along the walkways.....the view of the lake with three islands; taking in the fresh air you will know what i meant.
You have to be there...breathing it in.
Hi P and Cesco. This looks lovely! Love, Mette
